Mercury Glass...

I realize mercury glass reached its peak some time ago —
still, I find these small votice chalices bring a nice, subtle
sparkle to holiday displays. Besides, I think mercury
is timeless — so nevermind those that
declare the "trend" is over.
This shelf at Finderskeepers Market is full of
different shapes, sizes, and textures.
Sometimes transparent. Sometimes opaque.
Always moody and New Victorian.

  1. I haven't seen too many mantles without it lately. Perfect for a little sparkle during the holidays.

  4. I love mercury glass, finding it hauntingly beautiful. A recent find is an antique emerald green ice bucket with the silvery finish applied to the outside.

    Lovely images!
